11-ouncetaco seasoning mix-plus ingredients to make the taco meat
1headiceberg lettuce-rinsed and then shredded or chopped
1/2cupsalsa-flavor/heat of choice (I use mild)
1/2cupgreen onions-chopped (about 4-6 green onions)
1 cup tomatoes-chopped
2 cupsshredded cheddar cheese
12ouncebag tortilla chips(you may not use all of them)
sour creamoptional
salad dressingoptional (Southwest Ranch, Catalina, French, Chili Lime, etc.)
Instructions
Prepare ground beef according to the taco seasoning packet. After prepared, set aside.
In a large serving bowl, place shredded lettuce and spread out in bowl.
Spoon prepared taco meat onto the shredded lettuce. Drizzle with salsa (you may need to add more salsa than 1/2 cup).
Top with chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
Crush tortilla chips and sprinkle on top of salad. (We use a lot of tortilla chips, usually almost the whole bag, but you can adjust to your personal preference.)
Add more salsa, if desired.
OPTIONAL: Drizzle with desired dressing and add a dollop of sour cream before serving.
