This red, white & blue popcorn recipe is a fun sweet party snack to celebrate Team USA for an Olympics watch party or if you want Olympic-themed party foods.
Cover 2-3 baking sheets with foil or parchment paper. Lightly spray with cooking oil to help prevent popcorn from sticking. Set aside.
Separate popped popcorn into three different mixing large bowls, 4 cups in each bowl. Set aside.
Place white melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 second intervals, stirring after each 30 seconds until chocolate is completely melted. Be careful not to overheat.
Immediately pour white melted chocolates over one bowl of popcorn. Carefully stir until popcorn is covered completely.
Turn popcorn onto the prepared foil or parchment paper baking sheets. Spread the popcorn into a single layer.
Sprinkle white popcorn with sprinkles. (OPTIONAL)
Repeat steps with the blue chocolate melts and then with the red chocolate melts.
Allow popcorn to cool completely and harden, approximately 20 minutes or until no longer sticky.
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Notes
I always like to use the old-school method of popping popcorn on the stovetop because I think it gives this popcorn recipe more flavor. GET THE STOVE-TOP POPCORN RECIPE HERE.However, you can use microwave popcorn or buy pre-popped popcorn in bulk for parties.
