2clovesgarlicminced
1teaspooncrushed red pepper flakes
salt & pepperto taste
Instructions
TO BLANCH THE GREEN BEANS
Add cold water and ice to a large bowl to make an ice water bath. Set aside.
Place enough water in a large pot (enough to cover the green beans). Add salt. Bring the water to boil.
Carefully add the green beans to the boiling water. Cook beans for 3-5 minutes, until just tender, but still crisp and bright green.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the green beans and immediately place into the ice water bath. When cooled, strain and set aside.
TO SAUTEE THE GREEN BEANS
Spread olive oil in pan over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic and pepper flakes to the pan. Sautee just until garlic is translucent.
Add the drained green beans to the pan and sautee until beans are hot and coated with oil, around 5 minutes. Beans should still have a little crisp and not soggy after cooking.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Salt and pepper, to taste. Serve immediately.
Notes
You can add more or less pepper flakes, based on how spicy you like your food.
