Our family favorite buffalo chicken tater tots recipe! Called totchos (for tater tot nachos), these cheesy potatoes are yummy appetizers for parties, easy football watching food / game day food, or even a quick dinner. Also, these buffalo chicken loaded tater tots are just as good with shredded chicken or without chicken for vegetarian buffalo tots! (We like this potato recipe both ways!)
Loaded Buffalo Chicken Tater Tots Nachos
We make these as buffalo-ranch tater tots because that’s how my daughter likes them, but you can definitely leave off the ranch dressing. These buffalo chicken totchos are easy to play around with and add toppings to your liking without worrying about exact measurements.

How To Make Buffalo Chicken Tots Step-By-Step Tips
Chicken Buffalo Tater Tots vs No Meant Buffalo Tater Tots
We’ve made this recipe with leftover shredded chicken, cubed chicken, and as no meat nachos, and it’s good all those ways.
If you’re making it with chicken, toss the cooked chicken in the buffalo sauce before adding it to the baked tater tots. (You can use any of your favorite buffalo sauces.)
If you’re making this recipe without chicken, toss the tater tots in the buffalo sauce once you have baked the tots until they’re crispy (not before baking or while the tater tots are frozen still). Then, return them to the oven to bake another 5-7 minutes.
Make Crispy Tater Tots
Cooking your tater tots until crispy will make all the difference with this recipe.
Follow the package directions for baking the tater tots and then add a few more minutes to get tater tots crisp.
Crispy tater tots will help hold the toppings without making the potatoes soggy.
