Air Fryer Hot Ham And Cheese Pinwheels With Everything Bagel Seasoning
These air fryer pinwheels are a quick and easy snack for parties, after school snacks, or any time you want easy roll up recipes / crescent roll recipes.
Plus, since these finger sandwiches are air fried, you don’t need to worry about pinwheels getting soggy before the party, even with our special pinwheels sauce.
This might be my new favorite savory pinwheel roll up recipe!
Ingredients For Cheese & Ham Pinwheels
- Crescent rolls (like croissant dough)
- Ham
- Swiss Cheese
- Spicy Brown Mustard
- Butter
- Brown Sugar
- Garlic
- Worcestershire sauce
- Everything Bagel Seasoning like this
If you’ve had the baked leftover ham and cheese sliders like this at the holidays and liked those, then you’ll also enjoy these pinwheel sandwiches in the air fryer!
Special Pinwheels Sauce
I think what really makes these warm ham roll up pinwheels is the special sauce that you brush on before cooking and then the everything bagel seasoning sprinkled on.
The special sauce is made of Worcestershire Sauce, spicy mustard, garlic, butter, and brown sugar.
It may sound like a weird sauce, but trust me on this. It makes a yummy slightly sweet and savory pinwheel topping!
I use a basting brush like this, but you can also use a spoon and drizzle the sauce over the roll-ups. Just make sure you get the sides of the dough, too.
How To Make Ham Pinwheels In The Air Fryer
We use our air fryer oven like this to make these fried pinwheels and they turned out perfect cooking them at 375°F at around 12-15 minutes. However, every air fryer is different in how it heats and the time it takes, so you may want to do a test run if you’re making these for a party.
You can also make these in your small air fryer basket. Just be sure that you fry them in batches in single layers or they’ll stick together and may not cook evenly.
RECIPE TIP: I have not tried these in the oven yet. Since air fryers cook faster than ovens, I would assume you have to bake pinwheels longer in the oven. I would try cooking pinwheels in the oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes. But, again, I have NOT tried making this recipe in the oven.
Air Fryer Everything Hot Ham And Cheese Pinwheels
Ingredients
- 1 can crescent rolls
- 6 slices ham
- 6 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 Tablespoons spicy brown mustard divided
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 4 Tablespoons butter melted
- 1 Tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer oven to 375°F.
- On a large cutting board or a large piece of wax paper, unroll the refrigerated crescent rolls into one sheet. Pinch together the dough at any perforated seams.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of spicy brown mustard onto dough sheet.
- Place ham slices on top of mustard in a single layer, overlapping slightly if needed.
- Place Swiss cheese slices on top of ham in a single layer, also overlapping slightly if needed.
- Starting on the long edge, tightly roll the dough over the meat until you have a long roll (jelly-roll style).
- Cut 1-inch pieces and place flat on ungreased air fryer pan. (The meat and cheese will be facing up, not the dough.) Set aside.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard, Worcestershire Sauce, melted butter, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
- Use a basting brush (or a spoon), cover each 1-inch pinwheel piece with the sauce, including the dough on the sides. Sprinkle generously with everything bagel seasoning.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, checking at 10 minutes to see how they're doing.*
- Serve warm with a side of spicy mustard for dipping.
