Easy Warm Blue Cheese Dip Step By Step Instructions and Recipe FAQs
This is an easy warm blue cheese dip for chips, crackers, vegetables, green apples, or even to go with chicken wings! It makes one of the best party dip recipes!
Step 1: Toast the nuts for the dip recipe.
You can make toasted nuts in the oven, but for this recipe I find it easy to just toast the walnuts in a pan over medium heat and then make the dip in the same pan.
Step 2: Add the blue cheese with cream cheese.
Add the cream cheese and blue cheese to the same pan where you toasted the nuts and stir until the cheese is creamy and melted and the nuts are mixed in.
You will need to stir frequently so that the cheese doesn’t burn.
Step 3: Spread the blue cheese mixture into a dish.
I usually use a small casserole dish or small baking dish, but you can spread the cheese mixture into whatever serving dish you like (especially if you’re not making this as a baked blue cheese spread).
Just spoon the mixture into the dish and spread it out.
Step 4: Add the blue cheese dip topping.
Toast the bread crumbs (with the rest of the ingredients — garlic and parsley added) in a pan.
Add the toasted bread crumb topping to the blue cheese mixture. Spread evenly over the top of the blue cheese and cream cheese dip.
RECIPE TIP: After assembling (putting the topping on), you can also bake this blue cheese with cream cheese dip at 350°F for 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbling around the edges and the bread crumbs are slightly browned. I make it either way.
Serve this tasty dip while warm.
Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

This is my favorite creamy blue cheese dip and it’s a super simple recipe to double (or even triple, if you have a large party).
If you are a fan of blue cheese, you can even add more blue cheese crumbles than listed in this recipe for a stronger flavored delicious dip.
Be sure to check the recipe notes if you want to make this as a baked blue cheese dip.
RECIPE TIP: Try a dash of hot sauce or some crumbled bacon (crispy bacon) with this dip recipe! Those make for delicious recipes, too! If you don’t like parsley, you can add chopped fresh chives on top.

- 2 8-ounce packages cream cheese
- 5 ounces crumbled blue cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup fine bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
- In a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat, melt 1 Tablespoon of butter. Add in chopped walnuts, stirring occasionally, until lightly toasted. (Around 3-5 minutes.)
- Reduce heat to medium-low. In same pan as walnuts, add in cream cheese and blue cheese, stirring constantly until melted and creamy. Spread into a small casserole dish or serving dish. Set aside.
- In another small non-stick pan over medium-low heat, melt remaining 2 Tablespoons of butter. Add in bread crumbs, garlic powder, and parsley. Stir until bread crumbs are lightly toasted, around 3-4 minutes.
- Spread toasted bread crumb mixture over blue cheese mixture. Serve while warm with crackers, celery, crusty bread, and sliced green apples.
I've also used pecans in this recipe and it's just as good. If you have nut allergies, just leave the nuts out!
Sometimes after I've assembled everything, I put this mixture in oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes until the cheese mixture starts to bubble around the edges of the bread crumbs and the bread crumbs are a little more toasted. (It's great without baking it, too!)
