Make A Flower Paint Picture with DIY Dandelion Paint
Out of all the crafts we’ve done, making dandelion paint is definitely in my top 5 favorite crafts ever. (It probably ranks as #1 craft for my daughter!)
Go on a hike around your yard and gather dandelions. Then, crush them to make the most beautiful sepia-toned paint ever that you can actually paint with and make beautiful flower crafts paintings.
If you only have time for one flower craft, make it this kids activity. It’s really cool to see how you can transform picking flowers into painting with flowers!
- This is also a flower art project that tweens and teens will love, so it’s great if you need ideas for older kids for summer camp activities.

Make A Handprint Flower Craft With A Cute Growing Poem
If you’re looking for preschool camp crafts or VBS crafts for younger kids, this is it!
This is an easy hand flower craft with a cute poem about growing and is perfect for toddler crafts or preschool camp activities.
- CRAFT TIP: It’s hard to tell in the picture, but each one of the construction paper flowers has a fingerprint in it. We used too much paint, so I recommend using a stamper pad for that part.
This is one of those simple flower crafts that is really cherished and treasured for years and a fun activity with faux flowers.

Make Paper Flower Vases With Real Flowers
I love this as an easy craft for preschoolers because it’s a fun way to include a nature walk or backyard play time with craft projects.
And, it’s a super easy craft to make:
- Draw vase shapes on sturdy cardstock or a piece of cardboard.
- Poke holes into the cardboard above the vase.
- On your nature walk, kids pick wild leaves and flowers (leave the stems on!) and string them into the holes to fill up their vase!
- CRAFT TIP: If you’re careful enough, you can pick the dandelion puffs and make a vase of flowers with them!
You don’t have to use dandelions, you can use any flowers you can find or even flowers you buy!
It’s a really great fine motor skills activity for preschoolers while also giving them some outside time.
Make Tissue Paper Flowers Crafts
I remember making these DIY tissue paper flowers with my bestie when we were kids (and I had just as much fun making them as an adult!).
And, even better? You can make this easy craft with craft supplies you probably already have at home: tissue paper (any color) and pipe cleaners!
You can make this as gigantic tissue flowers using full sheets of tissue paper or small paper flowers like we made for colorful flower crafts to fill a vase.
- CRAFT NOTE: You may have to help young children who are struggling with fine motor skills.

Make Funny Flower People
This flower craft is made by drawing different funny faces on pieces of card stock or card board.
Head out on a nature scavenger hunt to pick wild flowers, leaves, flower petals, and more.
Then, using a glue stick, make hair (or scenes) out of your nature finds on different pictures.
- CRAFT TIP: If you’re doing this as a toddler craft for daycare camp, you can also pre-punch holes above the drawings and have kids place the flower stems right into the holes.
Make A Marshmallow Flower Craft Kids Can Eat
If you’re looking for a fun food craft, try making marshmallow flowers is the perfect flower craft.
All you need are white marshmallows, small colored marshmallows, and powdered sugar!

Make A Flower Keeper Card From Nature Camp Walks
Make your own DIY flower bouquet card with fresh flowers and leaves and finds from your nature hikes!
To make an easy nature card:
- Cut a square piece of cardboard.
- Cut notches in the side of the cardboard.
- String yard or twine tightly across the cardboard and tie in back.
- When you find a cool nature find, tuck it under the twine on your own nature keeper card!
- CRAFT TIP: For an easy step saver, use larger rubber bands stretched over the cardboard instead.
