Make Paper Flower Vases With Real Flowers
If you’re looking for simple flower crafts, this is it!
I love this as an easy craft for preschoolers because it’s a fun way to include a nature walk or backyard play time with craft projects.
And, it’s a super easy craft to make:
- Draw vase shapes on sturdy cardstock or a piece of cardboard.
- Poke holes into the cardboard above the vase.
- On your nature walk, kids pick wild leaves and flowers (leave the stems on!) and string them into the holes to fill up their vase!
CRAFT TIP: If you’re careful enough, you can pick the dandelion puffs and make a vase of flowers with them!
It’s a really great fine motor skills activity for preschoolers while also giving them some outside time.
Make Tissue Paper Flowers
I remember making these DIY tissue paper flowers with my bestie when we were kids (and I had just as much fun making them as an adult!).
And, even better? You can make this easy craft with craft supplies you probably already have at home: tissue paper (any color!) and pipe cleaners!
You can make this as gigantic tissue flowers using full sheets of tissue paper or small paper flowers like we made for colorful flower crafts.
This is a fun project for Mother’s Day, Cinco De Mayo crafts, and more!
CRAFT NOTE: You may have to help young children who are struggling with fine motor skills.

Paint With Flowers (My Vote For Favorite Flower Crafts!)
Out of all the crafts we’ve done, making dandelion paint is definitely in my top 5 favorite crafts ever. (It probably ranks as #1 craft for my daughter!)
Go on a hike around your yard and gather dandelions. (Pick some extra for flower crowns!) Then, crush them to make the most beautiful sepia-toned paint ever that you can actually paint with and make beautiful flower crafts paintings.
If you only have time for one flower craft for spring or summer, make it this kids activity. It’s really cool to see how you can transform picking flowers into painting with flowers!
This is definitely a flower art project that tweens and teens will love and could even make flower cards using the pressed flower paint.

Make A Handprint Flower With Growing Poem
Handprint paper flowers will be cherished by the grandparents or parents forever!
My daughter made this hand flower craft with this cute poem about growing for her grandma one year for Mother’s Day. My mom loved it so much that she still has it hanging on her refrigerator years later!
CRAFT TIP: It’s hard to tell in the picture, but each one of the construction paper flowers has a fingerprint in it. We used too much paint, so I recommend using a stamper pad for that part.
This is one of those simple flower crafts that is really cherished and treasured for years and a fun activity with faux flowers. It’s such a lovely gift!
